Jacob William Key |
Jacob Key Outstanding Senior Service Project |
Jacob Key was an active member of NHS who graduated from Ava High School in 2018. As a junior at Missouri S&T, Rolla, Jacob died peacefully in his sleep on November 26, 2021.
Besides being a competitor, Jacob’s focus was on service to others. Beginning in 2009 with the earthquake in Haiti, when Jacob organized a fund-raiser that raised over seven thousand dollars, which went to the Salvation Army, Jacob was always willing to help others with whatever they might need. He had wonderful memories of a week he spent on a mission trip in Colorado during high school. He was honored to be a student representative for the Ava Chamber of Commerce. He enjoyed helping younger students with math and he spent every Sunday morning for four years volunteering at Children’s Church. He served wherever help was needed, whether the task was big or small. As a NHS member, Jacob's senior service project was filming, editing, and producing a video of the visit of the traveling Vietnam Memorial Wall at Ava. |
